Storm Damage on Dauphin Island and at Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo

"The house right in front of us - the whole roof just flew off. The house next to us caved in and we were just standing at the window and seen big pieces of the roof fly by. It was crazy. It was crazy. It was scary."

That's what one Dauphin Island resident told NBC 15 after storms rolled through Sunday morning.

Heavy wind and rain knocked out power, downed trees, and damaged homes and businesses on the Island.

There was also significant damage at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. Volunteers are being asked to help with cleanup.
