The east entrance to the Bankhead Tunnel is getting a new paint job. It's a combination of what appears to my eye to be maybe... teal and rave green, but ALDOT is saying it's blue and "'cucumber salad' green." So there's that. In any event, the new vibrant colors should make an impression when people enter the City of Mobile. The west entrance to the tunnel (heading east and leaving Mobile) will be painted the same color it is now.
The painting work will cause tunnel closures for the next few nights.
