Wait... there are still payphones? Not for long in New Orleans. But if it's a piece of history you'd like to preserve, they'll be up for auction.
The city is getting rid of this outdated technology because the phones are broken, abandoned by the owner, and they've become an eyesore. Not to mention the fact that most of us carry phones with us wherever we go.
The time has come to say goodbye--
