New Orleans had to cancel its fireworks display last year due to COVID-19. And there were no plans for a show this year, due to a lack of funds.
That's when actor Will Smith stepped in. He's played a lot of heroes in the movies, but this time he saved the 4th of July fireworks show in New Orleans.
Smith is in town filming a movie ("Emancipation"). When he found out there weren't going to be any fireworks, he and his production company stepped in, to the tune of $100,000.
