Walmart Will Pay Employees' College Tuition and Books

A lot of people work their way through college at fast food restaurants and stores like Walmart... but that's just to get by. It doesn't usually cover the full cost of education.

Now it can. Walmart is going to cover 100% of tuition costs for employees attending college (and the cost of books, too) at 10 different universities and online schools with their Live Better U education program.

And starting next month, employees no longer have to pay a $1 per day fee to be part of the program. The company is footing the whole bill.

Walmart expects to pay $1 billion over the next 5 years to help employees get degrees or learn skills, without the burden of financial debt.
