"Out of Pocket" - Out of the Office or Unhinged?

A lesson in generational misunderstanding.

"Out of pocket" has become a thing on social media, with Gen Z'ers making fun of millenials when they use it in the office.

The phrase "out of pocket" to someone over 30 means away from their desk or unavailable.

To Gen Z, it means you're about to get crazy, unhinged, and do something out of character.

Just in case you hear snickering behind the cubicles when you say it.

And if you're talking to someone in the insurance field, it means you're gonna owe money, i.e. "out of pocket" expenses.
