Loverboy Working for Pancakes?

IHOP is using a classic from Loverboy to promote their $6 House Faves menu. Instead of "Working for the Weekend", it's now "Working for the Weekday".

And yes, it's actually Loverboy! Guitarist Paul Dean and lead singer Mike Reno say they were excited about the project, even though it bordered on silly. Dean says "It was just a fun thing we didn't take too seriously."

But don't look for them in the commercial. The rockers in that video are talking syrup bottles.

Fun fact- they were paid in IHOP gift certificates, as well as royalties.
