Bras Across the “CAUSE”way raises money to help local cancer patients pay bills, buy groceries and other necessities so they can focus on their fight.
The 6th annual Bras Across the CAUSEway 5K and Fun Run fundraiser for the Ascension Providence Breast Cancer Outreach Fund is scheduled for Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Meaher State Park in Spanish Fort. Registration is now open.
The certified 5K course goes through the park and back on the causeway. The Fun Run is approximately one mile. Both races start and finish at Meaher State Park. There will be entertainment, several vendors, awards and plenty of fun. Register by mail (entries should be postmarked by October 1st), in person at McCoy Outdoor, Run-N-Tri, or Fleet Feet in Mobile until noon on October 6th or online until 4 a.m. on October 7th. Preregistration is $20 for adults and $15 for those 12 and under. Walk-up registration is welcome at Meaher State Park the day of the event for an additional $5 per participant.
With the help of this event’s generous sponsors, the Ascension Providence Breast Center has been able to directly help local patients with rents/mortgages, transportation, utilities, groceries, co-pays, expensive (life-saving) tests and treatments that aren't covered by insurance and many other needs. This event has raised over $100,000 in the five years since beginning this mission. Cancer is not a battle that is won alone, and we want our fighters to know that we support them.
