I totally understand that Barbra Streisand misses her dog Samantha. But tell me you weren't caught off guard by the news of what she did about it!
In her cover story with Variety, Barbra revealed that she cloned her dog Samantha (who died last year) and is hoping her two new dogs, Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett, will have some of her traits when they get older--
I'm freaked out by the fact that this is a thing. (Of course, it's an EXPENSIVE thing... up to $100,000).
PETA says cloning doesn't make your favorite pet live forever--
PETA is speaking out about why it adamantly stands against Barbara Streisand’s decision to clone her dog https://t.co/gjR2dI4m6z— VANITY FAIR (@VanityFair) February 28, 2018
Reaction? (Other than me being freaked out....)
With all the dogs that need forever homes, Barbra Streisand's decision to clone her dead dog is despicable and a terrible example...I don't care what songs she has sung or what movies she has directed...— Yashar Ali 🐘 (@yashar) February 27, 2018
Honestly it would be more surprising if Barbara Streisand DIDN'T clone her dog.— Bess Kalb (@bessbell) February 28, 2018
Barbra Streisand cloned her dog twice meanwhile 10,000 dogs die a day in shelters. It costs between $50k and $100k to have a dog cloned. Think of all the dogs that could have been rescued with that kind of $. But please Barbra continue to lecture us all about how we should live— Wild as a Mink (@VolEngineer11) February 27, 2018
