What an incredible moment for Frances McDormand at the Oscars! She was downright giddy, getting all the women who were nominated to stand and be recognized...
But before the night was over, Frances McDormand went home in tears.
Someone had taken her Oscar.
This guy allegedly picked up her Oscar and went on Facebook Live, claiming he had won an Oscar for "music". Watch this!
A New York Times reporter tweeted his picture and reported that a photographer had recovered the stolen statue--
Security at the Governors Ball are looking for this guy, who grabbed Frances McDormand’s Oscar and ran out with it. Wolfgang Puck’s photographer stopped him, got the Oscar back, and the guy disappeared back into the ball. Apparently Frances has said to let him go. #Oscars #Drama pic.twitter.com/5tlsx4Ulwt— Cara Buckley (@caraNYT) March 5, 2018
Not sure where they caught up with him, but they did... and he's charged with grand theft. (It's everything I can do not to call it Grand Theft Oscar.... )
Makes you wonder how he thought he'd get away with something like that... especially since HER NAME was engraved on it!
Phew! Frances McDormand is reunited with her best actress Oscar after misplacing it at the Governors Ball Sunday. https://t.co/RiJ85i1Adk— USA TODAY Life (@usatodaylife) March 5, 2018
