Good news? There was no data breach and no one has your Twitter password.
BUT... there was a bug in the system and someone COULD HAVE seen it. So Twitter is asking you to change it.
I did. And our company did. But it just opens up a whole 'nother can of worms. Because updating my computer or my phone is one thing.. updating my memory is another thing altogether!
Anyone else find it slightly amusing that this all happened on World Password Day? It's a day to remind us to keep our passwords fresh, so we don't have to worry so much about someone getting into our accounts.
I just have to worry more about ME getting into them!
We recently found a bug that stored passwords unmasked in an internal log. We fixed the bug and have no indication of a breach or misuse by anyone. As a precaution, consider changing your password on all services where you’ve used this password. https://t.co/RyEDvQOTaZ— Twitter Support (@TwitterSupport) May 3, 2018
