I realize you need to be concentrating on work, etc... but if you haven't seen the Arrow Illusion, it'll only take a minute. Ok, maybe a few... because you're gonna be trying to figure out HOW this arrow ALWAYS points right... even when you spin it 180 degrees.
An arrow that ALWAYS points RIGHT? I'm sure we'll start seeing this in political ads soon (LOL)... but that's not the point. The point is this arrow is messing with a lot of minds on the Internet right now...
Right Pointing Arrow: spin this arrow 180 degrees and it still points to the right- only in a mirror will it point left (and only to the left). Another incredible ambiguous object illusion by mathematician Kokichi Sugihara of Meiji University in Japan, the inventor of this illusion and art form. A clever combination of reflection, perspective, and viewing angle produce this striking illusion. ➡️ Follow the link in my profile for info about where to get this illusion arrow and other amazing items featured here on @physicsfun #illusion #ambiguouscylinderillusion #ambiguouscylinder #geometry #mirrorreflection #physics #ambiguousobject #kokichisugihara #physicstoy #math #mathtoy #mathstoy #optics #opticalillusion #3dprinting #perspective #science #scienceisawesome
For those who assume the video was somehow manipulated or enhanced... Snopes says nope!
It's an optical illusion... which I guess means it's part magic, or at least we'd like to think so (because most of us find magic a lot more fun that science!)
But there is a seriously scientific explanation and you can see it here--
The laws of physics no longer make sense. Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria! Oh, it's an optical illusion, carry on then https://t.co/XO17SJSXKO— snopes.com (@snopes) May 3, 2018
