Twitter went crazy over a Heinz ketchup product in the Middle East that combines ketchup and mayonnaise.
The company put it to a vote and over 500-thousand people said they'd buy it... and now Mayochup is hitting store shelves this month.
Personally? I'm a huge fan of ketchup; not a big fan of mayonnaise. So the idea of mixing the two of them literally makes me queasy.
Guess you'll have to put me down as a ketchup purist, especially when it comes to fries.
And don't get me started on the name. Are any of you really gonna ask for this out loud at the store??
We heard you saucy Americans and we’re bringing you our version of the delicious duo you’ve been eating for years. Are you Team Mayochup or should we call it something else? Let us know your thoughts! pic.twitter.com/q0PRofYOO5— Heinz Ketchup (@HeinzKetchup_US) April 16, 2018
By the way, the Middle East isn't the only area claiming to own this creation....
#Mayochup should have a PuertoRican flag 🇵🇷on the bottle I’ve been eating this stuff since I was a kid! Heinz you missed the most important ingredient GARLIC! Yes! It’s addicting!— Rebeca (@RebeccaPR2018) September 18, 2018
Heinz knew exactly what they were doing bringing out mayo ketchup lmao, the talk alone is giving it hype. Oh and Sorry Puerto Ricans....you did not invent #Mayochup either. Most if not all Hispanic/Caribbean countries do this too. pic.twitter.com/rHAuduIH1l— Ingrid Thurston (@xo_beauty87) September 18, 2018
Not really sure about the point of #Mayochup First of all its just thousand island dressing, aka fancy sauce. Second, it combines two condiments most people probably already have in their fridge. Now we have a pre-mixed version? Are people really that lazy lol i don't get it— Garbage Boy (@TrashManGarbage) September 18, 2018
