Saw this one coming. (Probably because I'm the only one not wearing a blindfold these days!)
Netflix is warning people about the new Bird Box challenge.
The movie Bird Box, starring Sandra Bullock, is about a world where people are forced to wear blindfolds to avoid an evil entity that causes people to commit suicide. People are now sharing sharing videos online of themselves walking around and trying to carry out everyday tasks while blindfolded.
And yep, you guessed it... people have been posting their blindfolded adventures online.
Somebody's gonna get hurt. How do I know this? When I was in 7th grade, we had a class on sensory depravation. And I thought it would be cool to try to walk down the stairs with my eyes closed, to see if my other senses would guide me.
They did not. And I ended up with bruises and cuts and trying to explain to my mother that it wasn't the teacher's fault.
So... been there, done that, but thankfully before we had the technology to video it and share it with everyone.
So watch Bird Box but "don't try this at home." Don't make them have to put a safety warning on the movie itself...
Here's an assortment of tweets about #BirdBoxChallenge.
Don't get me started about what happens to this baby.
