You're killin' me, Smalls!
If you don't recognize that line, this story won't matter much to you. Nor will the news that they're doing a reboot... or revival... of "The Sandlot" with the characters all grown up and raising kids of their own.
The news broke on "The Rain Delay" podcast, with writer and director David Mickey Evans explaining that the series would be set in 1984, 22 years after the original film was set. And that he already has all the original cast members back. You know, like Scotty Smalls, Benny The Jet, Ham Porter, Squints and Yeah-Yeah. Evans said a streaming service has agreed to air it, but did not identify which one. He did not give a date the series would begin.
He got our hopes up. And it still may happen. But some of the cast members say it's news to them.
Seriously...we'd love to see more of these guys!
