It's So Cold In Here I Can't Work. For Women, That's A Real Thing...

I have 2 sweaters and a blanket; many of my female co-workers have heaters. I've had to leave the office on several occasions, just to warm up enough to go back and get my work done.

I am not alone. It's a real thing for women in the workplace.

Now we have some science to back up our claim that it's too cold in here for the women to think straight.

Here's their summary of what they found:

Our findings suggest that gender mixed workplaces may be able to increase productivity by setting the thermostat higher than current standards.

In other words... women are more affected by temperature than the guys. And the colder it is, the less productive we become. If you raise the temperature a few degrees, we'll function better.

Some people are trying to make this a sexism issue, especially in offices where guys have control of the thermostat. I don't really see it that way. Especially if the guys are wearing suits. But shouldn't someone realize there's an issue when all the women bring blankets, sweaters, jackets and heaters to work??
