Kim Kardashian's SKIMS Launch Sells Millions in Minutes

Kim Kardashian's new shapewear line sold out of a lot of designs in minutes after launching this week. And reports say she sold $2 million dollars worth in just minutes! Compare that to Spanx, which sold 4 million in its first year.

Admittedly, Spanx paved the way...getting us all used to wearing something to help us look better in form-hugging clothes. But Kim says she developed her SKIMS line because she wanted something more modern... and more comfortable.

I'm just glad she changed the name. Originally, she wanted to call it Kimono Solutionwear... but a lot of people considered that cultural appropriation of a fashion the Japanese have had for centuries.

SKIMS really works as a name... still having Kim in the title, but pretty much telling you what it's designed to do. (See PEOPLE's editors test the product, to see if it lives up to the hype.)
