The Moon Pie Over Mobile celebration is more than a decade old and still going strong. And this year, we'll ring in the New Year with a live performance from alternative band Collective Soul. The Georgia band has been around since the early 90s and made their mark on that decade with great tunes like December, Heavy, The World I Know and Shine. The band's tenth album is called Blood, and it was released just a few months ago.
During the 1990s, Collective Soul won Billboard Music Awards for two songs -- December and Shine -- and they were nominated for a third song (Heavy), as well as Top Rock Artist.
The Moon Pie Over Mobile celebration includes food trucks around Bienville Square (weather permitting), slices from the world's largest moon pie, a second line parade, along with the Moon Pie Drop and fireworks when the clock strikes midnight.
