Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen is bringing back their mega-popular chicken sandwich on Sunday, November 3rd; and this time, they say it's for good. This is the same chicken sandwich I discovered only by accident, while driving past two Popeye's locations that were covered up with traffic. We were literally wondering: "What's happening at Popeye's?"
Once we looked it up on the internet, it was clear that I had to try one of these chicken sandwiches myself. The media reports were comparing them favorably to Chick-fil-A, and we know how good that chicken sandwich is. But alas, I never got to take a taste test, because the sandwiches would sell out too quickly each day. And the Great Chicken War of 2019 seemed over before it had crowned a new champion.
But on Sunday, November 3rd -- THIS Sunday -- the chicken sandwich will be back!
I suppose it's interesting to note that the return of the Popeye's Chicken Sandwich happens on National Sandwich Day, but I wonder if the marketing department cared, or even knew about that. The date they chose was far less important than the day of the week Popeye's chose: Sunday!
Because anyone who loves Chick-fil-A knows they're closed on Sunday; and sit seems that I'm always in the mood for Chick-fil-A... on Sunday. (We always want what we can't have, right?). So now if you want a really good chicken sandwich on Sunday, you've got one at Popeye's.
As long as they can keep up with demand.
