Alcohol at Alabama Football Games?

There may be beer this year at Bama football games. Wine, too.

Yesterday, the Tuscaloosa City Council said yes to an alcohol license for Bryant-Denny Stadium. The SEC has already approved alcohol at stadiums in the conference; that was ok'd 3 years ago.

But don't get excited just yet-- it still has to be approved by the Alabama ABC board.

Also, there won't be anyone hawking beer in the stands. Plus, you'll have to show ID for every purchase, regardless of your age. (I keep telling myself that it's a compliment, but I know it's just a requirement, lol!)

The University of Alabama reportedly agreed to use proceeds from alcohol sales to fund a scholarship for police officers, firefighters and their children.
