Flag Retirement Ceremony (POSTPONED DUE TO WX)

Monday 6:45am, Flag Lowering Ceremony; 

Mon 9am, Memorial Day Flag Relay

For the past eight years, runners have escorted flags from Mobile to Pensacola on Memorial Day. This year, two run groups start simultaneously (One in Baldwin County and one in Mobile County) and end at the USS Alabama Battleship.

Mon 10am-3pm, Memorial Day Blood Drive 

Battleship Memorial Park will be open Memorial Day weekend from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Last ticket of the day is sold at 5:00 p.m. CLICK HERE


VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVANCESun 1pm, Veterans Memorial Park, Pensacola

The guest speaker will be the Mayor of Pensacola, Ashton Hayward. During the ceremony the Foundation will unveil its newest memorial honoring our nation’s sacrifices to the ongoing Global War on Terror. This memorial includes an artifact from the World Trade Center attack in New York on September 11th, 2001. Local artist and the creator of the memorial Randy New will attend.  CLICK HERE   


MOBILE POPS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND CONCERT- Sat 6pm,  Bicentennial Pavilion at Medal of Honor Park 

Join the Mobile Pops for their annual concert to commemorate Memorial Day, featuring patriotic and Americana music sure to please anyone! Bring a chair or blanket, picnic, and friends and family.  Free concert.  CLICK HERE

Celebrating the Island's natural beauty and designation as the "Sunset Capital of Alabama," the concerts begin about 90 minutes before the sun goes down.  bring lawn chairs, (perhaps a little bug spray, just in case) and a laid back attitude. LONG TIME COMING: A 1955 BASEBALL STORY, Pensacola Premiere- Fri 7pm, Jean and Paul Amos Performance Studio at Pensacola State College

The film is about little known Pensacola history and is having its Pensacola Premiere this Friday. The feature-length documentary that tells the story of the first racially integrated Little League game played in the Deep South between the all-black Pensacola Jaycees and the all-white Orlando Kiwanis—forever breaking the color-line in youth sports across the Southern United States.
