SMITHSONIAN MAGAZINE MUSEUM DAY- Saturday, various locations

Museum Day is a one-day event in which participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. Participants are allowed to download one ticket per email address. The ticket provides free general admission on Saturday, September 17, 2022, for two people.

LEGENDS IN CONCERT: BACK IN THE BUILDING- Sept 13- Oct 2, Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30pm; Sunday matinees at 3pm; OWA Theater, OWA, Foley

This is a first-ever “Back in the Building” Elvis themed production. Audiences should be ready to fly with the man from Memphis in the all-new show highlighting the multiple eras of the music career of Elvis Presley. All brought to life by three Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Champion/Finalists. BANDS ON THE BLACKWATER: JORDAN CHASE- Fri 7pm-9pm, Jernigan’s Landing, Milton

Bands on the Blackwater is a free outdoor spring and fall concert series held Friday nights in downtown Milton. Pull up your boat or bring a lawn chair and relax while listening to great live music! CLICK HERE   

MOBILE RIVER FOOD AND MUSIC FESTIVAL- Sun 2pm-7pm, Cooper Riverside Park, downtown Mobile

MOBILE ART COUNCIL’S 10th Annual THROWDOWN- Fri 6pm-9pm, USS Alabama Battleship Aircraft Pavilion

The Throwdown consists of a live art competition between five of Mobile’s finest local artists, an all-inclusive silent auction, live music, cold spirits, and delicious food. This year, artists John Halliday, Devontae Knight, Mayssam Iskander, Christopher Murray, and Elizabeth Brooks will have 90 minutes to create an original piece of art while utilizing items from a mystery box. At the end of the evening, these one-of-a-kind works will be auctioned off, and the artist with the highest bid will take home the title of 2022 Throwdown champion. During the competition, attendees will enjoy music by Ryan Balthrop and catering by Heroes and the Royal Scam. CLICK HERE

15th Annual GO RUN For Gynecologic Oncology - Sat 8am, SGA Pavilion, USA Campus, Mobile

The 15th Annual GO Run 5K Race and 1-Mile Fun Run is returning to an in-person event on Saturday, September 17, 2022! The event will take place on the campus of the University of South Alabama, in an all-new location! Race Central is located at the SGA Pavilion. The race will start and finish near the stadium. Proceeds from the GO Run, presented by the Catranis Family Charitable Foundation, support revolutionary gynecologic cancer research happening at USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute. CLICK HERE

Come join the Miracle Strip Corvette Club for their signature event, “Vettes at the Beach” all Corvette car show on beautiful Pensacola Beach. “Vettes at the Beach” has grown from 60 Corvettes in 2003 to over 300 and includes enthusiasts from all over the country. CLICK HERE

If it can go wrong during a show, it probably does in this award-winning comedy. The actors, who aren’t really very good, don’t quite know their lines and misplace their props while the jury-rigged set begins to come unglued around them.
