KING CAKE-OFF - Fri 5pm-7:30pm, Mobile Civic Center

Local bakeries, eateries, and grocery stores will compete to see who has the tastiest King Cake and King Cake-Inspired Treat on the Gulf Coast. This family-friendly event will feature live music, local vendors, kids' activities, specialty cocktails, King Cake tastings, and more! This event helps raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Alabama. JOY OF LIFE MARDI GRAS BALL- Sat 6pm, Daphne Civic Center

 The "Joy of Life" Mardi Gras Ball showcases the culinary skills of Mobile's most amazing chefs and restaurants, a live and silent auction, as well as great musical entertainment all while raising funds for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The 2023 gala will present St. Jude patients as King and Queen. CLICK HERE

MOBILE JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL: EXODUS 91 (Reita Franco Memorial Film)- Sun 2pm, Ahavas Chesed Synagogue, Mobile

A docu-narrative film that tells the story of Asher Naim, an Israeli diplomat caught between worlds and facing a crisis of faith in himself and his country. Asher, a North-African Jew himself, is sent to Ethiopia to negotiate the escape of 15,000 Ethiopian Jews from a country collapsing under famine and civil war. Working with his Ethiopian-Israeli colleagues who, themselves, immigrated to Israel a decade earlier, Asher and his partners begin to question if the Israeli government is serious or using the operation as part of an elaborate publicity stunt against claims that “Zionism is Racism.” With rebel forces closing in on the capital, Asher’s faith in his mission is put to the test as he navigates the treacherous world of bureaucracy and politics in Ethiopia, Israel, and the US.  CLICK HERE

Discover Tall Ship Pinta– A replica of Christopher Columbus’ famous ship will be open for dockside educational tours. SPIRITS OF THE PASSAGE: THE STORY OF THE TRANSATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE- Now through June 21st, GulfQuest National Maritime Museum, downtown Mobile

In conjunction with the 160th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s 1863 Emancipation Proclamation, the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico (GulfQuest) will be hosting one of the most powerful and important exhibitions it has ever displayed. “Spirits of the Passage: The Story of the Transatlantic Slave Trade” explores the strength of the human spirit through a display of nearly 150 historical objects spanning more than 350 years. 1st Annual HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR SHOWCASE FOOTBALL GAME- Sat 2pm, Ladd Peebles Stadium, Mobile

This game provides a platform for high-school senior football players from across the nation to showcase their talents, giving them a platform so colleges can view and submit scholarship offers to these players.
