Best Bets for the Weekend, May 17- May 19

HANGOUT MUSIC FESTIVAL- Fri/Sat/Sun, 101 E. Beach Blvd, where Highway 59 meets the Gulf, Gulf Shores

Hangout is an annual three-day music festival held on the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores. This year’s lineup features Zach Bryan, Lana Del Rey, Odesza, The Chainsmokers, and more of the biggest names in music. CLICK HERE

PENSACOLA NAVY DAYS- Friday-Sunday, various venues

This three-day event aims to honor the valor of past and present military personnel stationed at Naval Aviation Station Pensacola and surrounding military installations. CLICK HERE

Gallery Night - Friday, May 17, 5 - 9 p.m. Downtown Pensacola’s popular Gallery Night will be themed for Navy Days/Military Appreciation to honor the men and women serving our country. Wear red, white and blue and join in the festivities.

Navy Days “Night at The Museum” Gala - Friday, May 17, 6:30 - 10 p.m. The National Naval Aviation Museum plays host to this black tie/service mess dress affair featuring special guest speaker Admiral Harry Harris USN (Ret.). Tickets are now available for purchase.

Navy Days 4K Run/Walk - Saturday, May 18, 8 a.m. This unique 4K (2.4 miles) race starts at Community Maritime Park and loops through Downtown to Veterans Memorial Park and back. Come for the race and stay for the parade! Registration is now open.

**PARADE CANCELED DUE TO WX****Navy Days Parade - Saturday, May 18, 9:30 a.m. Gather along Pensacola’s waterfront for this exciting parade featuring miliary equipment, squadrons, Sailors of the Year, bands and drill teams, with the support of many of Pensacola’s best Mardi Gras Krewes. The parade starts at Veterans Memorial Park and ends at Community Maritime Park.

** FUN FEST CANCELED DUE TO WX *****Navy Days At Community Maritime Park - Saturday, May 18, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The celebration continues with a day filled with activities for the whole family including a Kids Fun Zone with free activities, food trucks, military vehicles on display, tours of Navy vessels, ROTC demonstrations and a military/veterans’ fair.

Blues on the Bay Concert - Sunday, May 19, 6 - 8 p.m. Pack a cooler and blanket and join us at the Community Maritime Park Amphitheater for a free concert featuring the Modern Eldorados.

24th Annual CHEF CHALLENGE, A CHALLENGE TO END HUNGER- Thurs 6pm-9pm, Mobile Convention Center, Downtown Mobile

Chef Challenge is Feeding the Gulf Coast's annual fundraiser that brings together some of our area's most celebrated chefs and restaurants for an evening of superb food and drink, live entertainment by Roman Street, and a vast silent auction--all in the name of ending hunger along the central Gulf Coast.  CLICK HERE 

WHITE LINEN NIGHT, “A NIGHT AT THE BEACH”- Thurs 7pm-10pm, Eastern Shore Art Center, Fairhope

The 6th Annual White Linen Night fundraising event will feature coastal cuisine and surf sounds. Wear your favorite white attire or get a lil’ beachy! CLICK HERE   

MOBILE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA presents A LATIN RHAPSODY- Sat 7:30pm, Sun 2:30pm, Mobile Saenger Theatre

MSO ends the season with a thrilling mix of Latin rhythms. The program starts with music from West Side Story, then heads south to catch the hot beats of Cuba and Mexico! The concert features Cuban pianist Aldo López-Gavilán performing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.  CLICK HERE   

SPRING MOVIES IN THE PARK: Elvis- Thurs 6pm, DeTonti Square Park, Mobile

Join the City of Mobile Parks & Recreation Department for Movies in the Park this spring! This is a free event in which you can hang out, play games, snack, and watch movies with us. Movies in the Park includes screenings of eight different movies in four different parks and community centers. All indoor events will begin at 6 p.m., and all outdoor events will begin at sunset.  CLICK HERE   

CINEMAS IN THE SAND: The Parent Trap - Fri 6pm-9pm Gulfside Pavilion, Pensacola Beach

The Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) invites families and friends, young and old, to unpack their beach chairs and blankets, dig their toes in the sand, and spend a Friday evening cozied up on Pensacola Beach while enjoying a FREE classic family film. All movies are free to the public and will start at sunset on a giant inflatable outdoor movie screen. CLICK HERE
