I watched when J.T. Thomas, a cattle rancher from Mobile, won $1 million on CBS' Survivor. Two seasons later, he made a "bold move" on Survivor: Heroes Vs Villains which has become known as the "dumbest move in Survivor history". Now he's back to redeem himself. Oh, and there's another $1 million on the line.
And apparently, this guy will really dig in if there's a lot of cash on the line. For mere bragging rights? Not so much. I had the honor of "competing" with him and several of our iHeart team and other local media 4 or 5 years ago, in "Ride Survivor" at the Greater Gulf State Fair. J.T. bowed out after the ride that kept turning us upside down, for about 4 times as long as a normal ride. He wasn't the only one. I stuck it out through 7 rides and had enough. I would like to point out that those on our staff who finished the competition were useless the next day at work, when they finally showed up at work. Their heads and stomachs were still trying to regain their equilibrium. And no, there wasn't a million dollars on the line. So in retrospect, J.T. made the smartest move.
The show starts March 8th on CBS (WKRG 5)
