I don't have any major stars I'm pulling for at the Oscars this Sunday. Just this guy. He's been nominated 20 times and lost 20 times... and now he's up for a 21st for Sound Mixer for the movie Hacksaw Ridge.
Seriously, he's already "won". He holds the record for the most Academy Award nominations without a win.
And I'm guessing he's got an acceptance speech ready...even if he just recycles one he prepared for "Terms of Endearment" back in 1984.
Should we mention that "La La Land" is favored in this category? Probably not.
And I mentioned that Kevin O'Connell is the "Susan Lucci of the Oscars"-- she was nominated 21 times for a Daytime Emmy for "All My Children". She only one once.
