I got a call from my daughter this morning. She went outside and came back in coughing up a storm. The Saharan dust cloud that has settled over the Gulf Coast is wreaking havoc on her asthma.
It's hard not to notice the dust today... a thick haze is hanging over the area. It's only going to last a few days, but it can make it hard for people with asthma and allergies to breathe.
It's a good time to stay indoors if you can.
Experts say, if you must go outside, wear your face mask. They can help protect your nose and mouth from dust particles.
And most of us have them handy right now, due to COVID-19. (Another good reason to wear your mask!!)
