Most of us curl up with our phones every night, or at least keep them right by the bed. Which means we've all probably been awakened by a call or text in the middle of the night.
So a new survey asked: When your phone wakes you up, whose fault is it?
Is it yours, for not turning off notifications or putting your phone in another room?
Or should you blame the person who thought it'd be fine to call or text you at 3:00 A.M.?
Well score one for personal responsibility . . . 50% of people say it's your own fault if you let your phone wake you.
36% say it's the other person's fault, and the rest aren't sure.
Personally? With kids, I can't exactly turn my phone off or leave it in another room.
HOWEVER, I can definitely mute some group texts and take other precautions to keep the phone from waking me. Found that out the hard way, after a group text went crazy in the middle of the night. Turns out, no one was up at all hours texting me. They had iPhones and I have an Android and somehow, the system delayed the texts until much later.... you know, around 2AM.
In that case, I blame the phone.
