I've known several people who either donated or received a kidney, and I'm always fascinated by how the match was made. Sometimes it's a family member. Or a co-worker. Or a complete stranger. But this may be a first--
A woman in Phil Campbell, Alabama donated a kidney to a police officer who arrested her eight years ago.
At one point, Jocelynn James was on the Franklin County "Most Wanted" list, but after several arrests for theft and drugs (including two arrests by Officer Terrell Potter), she turned her life around.
And when she saw that the officer needed a kidney, she JUST KNEW she would be a match.
It was a perfect match.
