Just a week after starting school remotely in Mobile County, the school system is changing course.
Instead of 9 weeks of remote learning and then returning to the classroom, students will be going back to class on a staggered schedule over the next few weeks, starting Monday with special education.
Why? The superintendent says it's because COVID-19 numbers have dropped significantly since they made the decision to start with just remote learning. And because it's not working well for some students or their parents.
Parents will have the choice of letting their students return to the classroom or continue remote learning.
