After a delay due to COVID-19, the Social Security Administration has finally come out with its list of Top Baby Names from last year.
Liam was the top boy's name for 2019; Olivia was the top name for girls.
You can also search by state and I'm proud to report that Mary was in the top 10 in Alabama.
Guess what name has really fallen out of favor?
The Social Security Administration says fewer people are naming their babies Karen. That name dropped down to number 660, its lowest since 1930.
It may be, at least in part, because of the abuse the name has received on social media. The name Karen has become a meme on social media used to describe angry, middle-aged white women who use privilege to demand their own way.
