WATCH: AL Governor Urges People To Stay Home So Emergency Crews Can Work

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey held a news conference this morning, asking for everyone to be patient in the wake of Hurricane Sally.

She mentioned patience several times.

She also said that crews were out in force today, trying to restore power. Yesterday, the weather was too rough to do more than restoring power to essentials like hospitals and water systems.

And she urged extreme caution when driving, especially in areas with water over the roads because of the possibility of unseen hazards, like power lines and debris.

As she put it, "the best thing for people to do right now is to remain home until we have adequate time to clean up the debris along the roads and restore power."
