University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban is sitting out with the coronavirus.
The school released a statement saying he and athletic director Greg Byrne both tested positive for the illness. They immediately went home to self-isolate after getting the results.
You can watch the video and hear for yourself-- Nick Saban feels fine.
And he was surprised by the test result. He's been a staunch supporter of masking up and taking precautions. And they HAVE been taking precautions.
Saban was coaching practice yesterday via Zoom... but he's not sure whether he can have communication with the coaches during the game this Saturday (they're researching that).
(Imagine how frustrating it will be for him to watch that game at home!)
The Crimson Tide are ranked 2nd nationally in the USA Today Coaches poll and play number three Georgia this weekend.
The coronavirus has already forced two other SEC games scheduled for Saturday to be postponed.
