A lot of money was spent on the ads for the Super Bowl. So which ones did you notice? And why?
For me, I'm pretty sure Tracy Morgan hit it out of the park with his Rocket Mortgage commercials (though I liked the one with Dave Bautista best).
And the Jeep commercial voiced by Bruce Springsteen was one of the most searched on Google, so apparently it resonated with a lot of people.
I liked the Scotts Miracle Gro with John Travolta and his daughter dancing. And even Wayne's World struck a chord.
One of my friends didn't get the Tide commercial with the Jason Alexander hoodie, but if you watch the facial expression change each time this kid gets that hoodie dirty, it's really kinda funny. Plus, I have one of those kids. And he loves "Seinfeld." So this hit home for me. (Btw, Tide is giving you a chance to win one of those hoodies with a donation to charity.)
What do all the commercials I liked have in common? Actors I've known for years.
Maybe I just needed something familiar, a little nostalgia. But just because it felt good to see these familiar faces, I'm not sure I'd buy any of these products because of it.
