We've faced several shortages over the course of the pandemic... toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, even pepperoni... but this one hits really close to home for me.
There's a shortage of those little ketchup packets! And I'm the person who has to have at least 5 or 6 with my fries (even my hashbrowns at breakfast!)
Part of the problem is that demand has skyrocketed, with so many of us using takeout and delivery. And even the restaurants that have dining room service are using packets instead of leaving bottles on the table, due to COVID precautions.
Kraft Heinz is feverishly trying to increase the supply, and even come up with new options, but the other issue is the increase in price. Restaurants are already seeing a 13% increase in cost. So some of them are imposing limits.
Of course, if you're desperate, I hear there are some up for bids on eBay.
