Don't Click The Link!

Most of us know about phishing scams-- fake emails that trick you into giving out your personal and/or financial information.

Well, add smishing to your vocabulary. It's the same concept, but it involves texts, so it's SMS phishing, or smishing.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service issued a written alert this week about phishing emails and smishing texts, claiming to come from the Postal Service.

The Postal Service assures us that it won't send texts or emails to customers unless you request to track a package. And even then, it will never contain a link.

So whether it's text or email, the warning is the same from the Postal Service-- "Don't click the link."
