For cheese lovers, the new line of Fresh Melts sandwiches at Subway sounds like a dream come true- “a triple portion of cheese that is grilled to perfection.”
But the North American Association of Subway Franchisees (NAASF) says they’re too dangerous to make!
The problem? They pose a burn risk to employees and could damage the franchisees’ toasters.
They're also too “operationally complex.” (Wait... grilling cheese is too complex??)
Subway is pushing back and says they’re “ensuring that our franchisees and hard-working sandwich artists are able to safely and consistently execute a quality meal that guests expect.”
Dang it. They had me at triple portion of cheese.
