The mystery woman who bought the 26-million-dollar Superlotto ticket in California may have destroyed the ticket in the laundry.
The manager of the store where the winning ticket was purchased says they had video of the woman buying the ticket.
He tells KTLA the woman recently came in and told them that she put the ticket in her pocket when she bought it. And she forgot to take it OUT of her pocket when she did the laundry.
The California Lottery said the incident will be investigated, but video evidence of a purchase isn't enough to claim a prize. Officials tell KTLA that you have to have proof like a photo or a copy of the ticket.
Without that, a one-time payout will go to California's public schools.
