Several years ago, stores started opening on Thanksgiving, to get a jump on Black Friday shopping. Which meant some people were hopping up from the dinner table to head to the stores and skipping the traditional post-meal nap on Thanksgiving!
During the pandemic, some stores decided to reverse course and close on the holiday. And apparently they're sticking with it.
