A lot of people wash new clothes before wearing.... and I just never have. My thought has been that they're clean when I buy them, so put 'em on and go.
That's the wrong answer.
According to Self Magazine, you actually should wash your clothes first. But it's not because they're dirty, like a lot of us might think. Yes, it's possible that others have tried on that new blouse you just bought at Belk; but it's tough to catch something from someone else having tried on the clothes you end up buying.
But new clothes often have chemical preservatives on them, to keep things like mold at bay during the shipping process. And they remain on the clothing until it's washed.... and those chemicals are something you should avoid, especially if you have sensitive skin.
