It may seem like your cat doesn't care whether or not you live or die, but that's apparently far from the truth. Researchers at Oregon State University determined that cats love their people a whole lot -- and would rather interact with the humans they love even more than eating their food.
That said, maybe the cat is just being a food snob, because... they're cats.
In any event, this is the most evidence that cats really like their humans since we came home from vacation and the cats snubbed us -- you know, for having been gone. (How dare we!)
So cat people win this round (we think). Even if you're cat acts like they don't care, their version of caring involves just being in the same room with you -- while dogs prefer to be a lot more expressive about their love for you. But unlike a cat, a dog is probably putting its dinner ahead of you.
