We've learned quite a bit about the new fall line-up on Fox, and sadly, a show from This is Us creator Dan Fogelman was left off the schedule. Pitch starred Kylie Bunbury as the first female Major League Baseball pitcher. I love the show's concept, because my mother in law grew up saying she wanted to play 3rd base for the New York Yankees. It hasn't actually happened, but the show made the premise totally believable and was simply a terrific drama.
You could see the similarities to This is Us in the way the show would weave in plot lines of years past into the present day story. It was well done television, and had fans of This is Us just seen it, I'm sure it would have been a hit. But Fox decided to bury the show on Thursday nights, where it had to go up against ABC's popular line-up and the NFL on CBS.
For me, it's the show of 2016-17 that deserved a better fate. Dan Lauria (Wonder Years) played the team's manager, and was terrific in the role. He made the announcement on Facebook.
