Why This Dog Flunked Out of The Police Academy

Here's an adorable dog story. Gavel was training to be a police dog in Queensland, Australia; but he didn't exactly make it through the 16-month police training program. The problem: he was just too darn nice. Gavel "did not display the necessary aptitude for a life on the front line," according to police in Australia.

You gotta admit, that sweet face isn't going to stop a hardened criminal. (Well, it could melt a criminal's heart and make him turn his life around). And when he rolls over to have his belly rubbed....

Fortunately, Gavel was given a new job and the title of Vice Regal Dog to go with it. His new role involves welcoming guests to the governor's mansion in Queensland. Sweet boy!
