Parents, be careful what you tell your kids -- especially young children. Because even if you think they're not listening...
I'm pretty sure my mom told me that chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Hershey's even made a commercial about it in the 80s. Of course, it's not true but that hasn't stopped a surprising number of American adults(!) from believing it.
In a survey of 1000 adults by the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy, seven percent said they thought chocolate milk comes from brown cows. And 48% said they just aren't sure where chocolate milk comes from. They must have been overthinking it, right?
The correct answer is: Chocolate milk comes from cows (not necessarily brown cows)... and cocoa beans.
