Let's put any debate about school uniforms behind us. Because the new debate is about work uniforms. Nearly half of Americans, and (believe it or not) a majority of Millennials would prefer to wear a uniform to work each day. This, according to new research from OfficeTeam.
There's a good reason for this, and it's not some big desire for conformity. It has a lot more to do with employees being unsure if what they'd like to wear is appropriate attire -- at least as far as the boss is concerned. Plus, wouldn't it be nice to NOT have to figure out what you're going to wear each day?
Of those who prefer a casual dress code (no uniforms), twenty percent would prefer their office to be jeans and a t-shirt casual. Another 16 percent like dressing up; and for the men, that's suit and tie.
