Oprah Winfrey is the talk of the nation this morning, following her inspirational (and must watch) speech at the Golden Globes last night. Today, people are wondering if this is the start of a political campaign for President of the United States, with CNN reporting that two of her close friends say she's "actively thinking" about a run in 2020.
Assuming Trump runs for reelection, and there is every indication he's planning to, that would put he and Oprah at odds politically. As of now, Trump has been remarkably silent on Twitter. But he does have a past with Oprah. He's appeared on her show, for one thing. And in 1999, when he was seriously considering a run for POTUS, Trump told Larry King that Oprah would be his first choice for Vice President.
Now, a lot can change in a decade and a half, but it appears his admiration for Oprah hadn't diminished by 2015. At the beginning of his successful Presidential run, he told ABC News that she'd "be great" on the ticket with him and that they would "win easily." He added: "She's great, she's talented, she's a friend of mine."
