Crichton Leprechaun Makes Internet Hall of Fame

When NBC 15 first reported an amusing story about a leprechaun spotted in Mobile's Crichton neighborhood, no one could have imagined what it would become. It's fully 12 years later, and we're still talking about it.

And not just here on the Gulf Coast. People across the internet have discovered what might be the viral video that invented viral videos. And over at Barstool Sports, they've decided it is "arguably the funniest thing to appear on the world wide web." And thanks to the incredible sketch of the leprechaun, they decided it should a unanimous first-ever induction into the Barstool Sports Internet Hall of Fame (whatever that is).

Scott Walker, the former NBC 15 news broadcaster, has always been associated with this story. And clearly seems to take pride in his role. On the video winning such a... (cough cough) prestigious award, he said: "This is fantastic. So happy to have been a small part of this legendary broadcast."
