Every year, Dr. Beach will list the best beaches in the U.S.! Do we rank? (not in the top 10,) but how about those places we visit that are close to us? St. George Island State Park in the Panhandle was ranked #4 in the country!
Here are the top 5 to visit, if you get a chance!
#1 was Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach in the Outer Banks of North Carolina! (Have you been there? Is it prettier than Fort Walton/Destin?)
#2 was in Dunedin/Clearwater. It's Caladesi Island State Park. I haven't been to that one.
#3 was in Southhampton New York. I don't think of N.Y. and beaches, but apparently this was in a great place to visit. It's called Coopers Beach.
#4 is St. George Island (mentioned above in the Panhandle.)
and
#5 is Duke Kahanamoku Beach in Oahu, Hawaii. WHAT? A beach in Hawaii was beaten out by New York?
